Almost Nine months…

since my last update, thats far too long!

Mean while loads of stuff happend, my running is a bit up and down, I tend to start out too hard after long breaks, giving me shin splits!

I watched KMD Ironman last weekend live on www.ironman.com, I had a few friends who actually comptede, and I was amased by their effort, I dream to once do that. Although time is not exactly on my side as i turned 35, but again, life aint over just because you turned 35 :)

As for gaming, well, I havent really played much as I have had lost of other things to do, but a little bit of World Of Tanks I have played, and I will try to keep playing it a bit this time, although not too much as I tend to do.

Also, im playing a iOS game!! Vs. Racing 2, its quite fun :)

Running again …

after being in London, where i bought a new pair of running shoes (Asics Nimbus 13). I started running again. You can follow my runs on my workout page. I log them via Endomondo on my iPhone, where i also use a Waoo Heart Rate monitor as well.

The funny thing is, prior to using the Heart Rate monitor, it said that i with my current height and weight would burn approximately 550 cal on a 5km run, but after using the Heart Rate belt it has dropped to ~430 cal. I’m assuming its because I’m apparently more fit than the average guy with my weight and height, otherwise Endomondos calculations are just way off.

Still gaming

its been quite a while since my last post. Mostly because i have been too occupied by other things.

I am still gaming, and participating in lots of betas and alphas.

Months ago, shortly after Close Quarters, i more or less stopped playing Battlefield 3. I simply just had enough i think. A friend convinced me to give Word Of Tanks a try, haven’t played it since beta. The game play it self is more or less the same, but i enjoy it for now.

I have also been participating in Hawken alpha and MechWarrior Online Closed beta.

For now I am sticking with World Of Tanks. And then i started running again =)

Battlefield 3 failure

so, it seems like there’s nothing exciting happening with BF3 recently. Lack of information from the development team regarding patches despite the fact they released a preliminary patchnotes list a week or so ago.

They keep blaming consoles for the long patch time with PSN/M$ needing to approve everything. I play on PC god dammit, I don’t want to wait longer because of the console shit. Theres a reason to why i choose the superior platform dammit.

So, I think it’s because they have shifted their focus towards their DLC stuff, which makes themno better than Activision, and that makes me sad.

So thank you for the hours in BF3, unless you come up with some real magic, don’t expect to find me in there again. Also the friends i used to play BF3 with feel more or less the same as me, whereas there’s very few solid team players in the game and therefore reason to play.

The active father

so, its certainly been a while since i last updated my blog. So a short summary of what happened meanwhile comes here:

I stayed with my “program” and still do fitness twice a week that means i go to the gym do 30-40 minutes cardio, and then moving around some iron for another 45 minutes or so. It aint much, and I’m certainly not going to be an Arnold doing this, but it keeps me in shape. The ultimate goal is still to get completely rid of the blubber around my belly.

For a while i added running to the equation, and so i power walked to the gym and ran a detour home from the gym. This was done in a pair of running shoes from nike that I was given by my wife as a Christmas present. A few weeks ago i decided to stop running since i got a inflammatory pain behind my tibia bone, and i have diagnosed my selv with tibial stress syndrome, some call it Shin splints. I went and had a runners test done, which I should have done to begin with, and was told the shoes i had was a neutral running shoe, as it was suppose to be. Only it was made for runners in the 65-75 kilo class, and since im a solid 96 kilos, the absorption in the shoe was too poor resulting in my Shin Splints.

So now i need a new pair of runner shoes. i think im going for the Asics Nimbus.

That aside, i have put a lot of hours into Battlefield 3 in my spare time, but since the end of January i haven’t touched it. Do not know why, i think i just had enough for now.

Upcoming projects at home is real father stuff! I need to add a gate and replace a gate before the summer comes, since my boy Christian turns out to be the opposite of hes sister, whos a polite young girl that always does what shes told and never tries to run away…

Also, going to add a Jungle Gym to our garden. I cant wait to put it up, not to mention seeing the looks on the kids faces when they see it :) Especially since the look I saw on my daughters face when i setup her trampoline with safety nets yesterday as its just about springtime here.

Got hooked by fitness

so, over the years i have lived very well and without much excercise. So the past 10 years, since i meet my girlfriend i ganed somewhat 18 kilos ( that like, 36 punds ) that I intend to get rid of again. I started out with some simple fitness, following a friends program in a local fitness club.

However, as with all else, I cannot commit less than 100% to something. So what started as a slow workout thingy to get some excercise has gotten its hold of me. And after talking to a persoanl trainer, I have decided I not only want to loose weight, I want to become fit like I have never been before.

So as of November the 7th, I start on a diet that lasts four weeks. So with a “little” work, I should be able to loose some weight before christmas.

I will be posting before/after pictures as I come along, providing im satisfied with the results :)
