Wii .. i think i need one!

april 29th, 2007. Published under Friends, Hardware. No Comments.

This weekend, i borrow a friends Nintendo Wii, along with the nuncucks with it, and the game Wii Sports. I must say, its even more amazing than i dared to hope for.

One could argue that the graphics on the Wii gets no where near the graphics of Xbox 360 or PS3, at all. But the Wii delivers something quite unique still, its controller is used in a new way, where it can be used as a baseball bat, golf club and even as a pair of boxing gloves!

I played with it for a little over 8 hours during Saturday, and the “punishment” for the intense action it is playing Nintendo Wii set in today, all my muscles are sore as a result of boxing my way to Pro level in Wii sports :D

The Nintendo Wii is amazing, and i need my own!

You can read more about the Wii here on wikipedia and here from nintendo.com.

Update: May 1st 2007

I actually ordered one today :) Chipped with a WiiKey and ready to use it, i ordered it with a black case though.

In a nostalgic search for some old school screen shots, i was looking for some R-Type screen shots, i stumble across this new 2d side scroller, due to be released spring 2007! It actually looks like something i think i just might have to won :)

See the video of it here.

The game looks to have the kind of game play that suits me :)

ATI shot their own feet!

For starters, I’m still waiting for the Q6600 processor to drop in price, so that i can get my system upgraded.

I’m still somewhat undecided on whether or not i should replace my faithful GeForce 7800 GTX card yet, and get a GeForce 8800 GTX. The thing is, i was kind of hoping/expecting that ATi would come out with their next gen graphics card around now, and that it would blow away the competition from nVidia. So that they would drop their prices a bit, making it somewhat affordable.

However, this article, shows something different, the new ATI card called ATI Radeon HD 2900 XTX failed. It can almost perform the same as the 8800 GTX, and i think everyone was hoping it would blow it away. Theres a lot of reasons why it could be wrong, the 8800 GTX is being tested with a driver thats a bit more tested since its already on the marked, while the ATi card is being tested on a RC driver. Now i guess i will have to wait for nVidia to release the 9800 GTX series, which should make the 8800 GTX series be a bit less pricy :)
