    Vista, widescreen and speakers!

I finally got Windows Vista installed, actually i did that last Friday. I just have not had the chance (read time) to write anything more than one line, so i decided not to. Vista, well i guess you could write several pages on first impressions, thoughts and suggestions to changes… if you wanted to, I wont, simply because i actually like it. The only problem i have had with it so far was when i was trying to install Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.

I went to http://www.adobe.com/ and downloaded the 32bit Vista version of the adobe acrobat reader version 8 and tried to install it, i kept getting the error about my temp file was either full or i did not have the correct permissions. I even tried running the file as an administrator on my 72 GB system drive with 55 GB free disk space, without any luck. I ended up copying the files the installer temporarily unpacked (and again removed when pressing OK to the error screen) to another drive, and ran it from there. And suddenly there were no problems, it just worked…

My good old faithful HP L1925 19″ monitor had to leave the party .. at least so i decided :) I did not know which one to buy next, until i came to think about whenever i saw some of my friends having wide screen monitors, i kind of envied them. At the same time, i was a bit cheap as in, i wanted the best, but did not want to pay the price. So i read around a bit and ended up looking at the Samsung 226BW, which is a 22″ wide screen monitor thats pretty much just .. brilliant!

I also decided, that since i know have such a nice monitor, and i just cleaned a bit up in my office/computer room. I needed some nice sound system so i can enjoy watching DVDs on my wide screen monitor (while the girlfriend camps the TV for just another reality show) with some really descent sound, instead of having my Sennheiser P160 headphones glued to my ears all the time. I decided to order the Creative Inspire T6060 system, which according to Klavs, should be worth every cent :)

    Vista & Coppermine!

I just ordered Windows Vista Ultimate Edition… sweet, cant wait till i get it. Currently i am uploading all the Thailand images to a coppermine gallery, that takes time, and ill fine tune a lot of it, and add descriptions to most of the pictures as well (VERY time consuming).

Also, I am starting to rewrite the whole “story” about our trip to Thailand. It will be there in English and Danish when i am done, i hope/guess. I hope I’m done before Vista gets here, otherwise itll probably be delayed another few days :)

    12 days till Thailand!

Its getting close to the vacation. I found out that the IXUS 65 i had ordered could not be delivered till 31st January, which is after we take off :( So i took the liberty of ordering a Canon IXUS 800IS instead. Currently, yes .. on a Sunday!! .. I’m at work, bringing this weeks working hours to a sweet 76 hours :D

Other news is, i killed my exchange server the other day, however I got it running again, but i screwed up the RPC over https part :S Oh well, only me using it anyways, i guess the OWA will do fine till i find time to fix it :)

I played a little Raindbow Six:Vegas lately, i used to play the original Rainbow Six series when it came out. But the kind of ruined the whole concept with Lockdown. Then i gave Vegas a chance and it totally rocked :)

    Christmas is over!

Yes, its true, its over :) Presents was okay i guess, actually just got money to buy a new digital camera for the Thailand trip. Don’t know if we should go for the Canon IXUS 65 or another one. Anyways im back at work, have 3 days with 12 hours of work before its weekend once again.

Something good happend today though, a few weeks ago a friend told me he ordered a new wheel for hes PC, and i could buy hes old one. So today, i got the Logitech MOMO Racing wheel set, and on top, the nice fellow decided to give me a copy of the game RACE, which he helped beta test ( hes even in the credits in the game :) ) What a mate :D
